David W. Morgan, Ph.D., works for the National Park Service, where he serves as the Regional Archeologist for the Southeast and the Director of the Southeast Archeological Center. His research focuses on the prehistoric and historic southeastern United States, where he has led field projects in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Most recently, his research has centered on underwater archeological methods and resource management; the archeology of the African Diaspora and creolization; and on changing concepts about how heritage is perceived and valued.
